As Jesus Christ in the Eucharist is the "Source and Summit of the Christian Life" (Lumen Gentium), our K-8th students participate at weekly Mass in the historic and beautiful St. Catherine Church. Many families and grandparents of our students join us here every Tuesday at 8:45 a.m.
At Mass, our students pray and sing, learn about God from Scripture and the Liturgy, and discover that Jesus loves them.
Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me..." (Matthew 19:14)
How Does Jesus Influence the Rest of Our Education?
The Catholic faith permeates the campus, with religious art, statues, and beautiful architecture.
Students see constant reminders of the spiritual life in the halls and classrooms that encourage them to do good and avoid evil. This moral formation supports the expectations of the way students treat one another, how they are to show honesty and dedication in their school work, and it sends them forth to live honorable lives once they leave school each day.
Our students take religion classes, where they are taught the many aspects of the Christian life. They pray the Rosary daily. They are given opportunities to go to Confession.
Students are frequently taken to the Adoration chapel (whether in a small group with an assistant during break time or with their entire class). This chapel, located beneath the windows of the building, is also open 24/7 to the community.
Classes occasionally visit the graveyard across the street in their religion class, where they can pray for the dead.
Service activities are also accomplished throughout the year, from a Rice Bowl collection, to service in the town (for upper level students).
In addition to all of this, the Christian worldview flows naturally through the rest of our subjects, from beholding God's creation in science class to realizing the order and beauty of mathematics comes from this same Creator.
