After making fudge with monks amidst the Kentucky Holy Land, Michael followed a calling into education. Upon leaving the idyllic monastery, he remembers a monk remarking: "Perhaps this (teaching) will be the nudge he needs to stay here for life." Instead, Michael has found great enjoyment in teaching. He is currently writing a book about Kentucky Catholicism.
